Black Widow

Black widows are known for their red “hourglass” figures on their backs. They are shiny black in color and may also have lighter red or white spots on their abdomens and backs. Black widow spiders have a comb foot (a row of strong, curved bristles located on their hind pair of legs) that allows them to cover their prey in silk. These infamous spiders do not build nice-looking webs, but rather messy-looking webs near ground level. Black widows are not overly aggressive and may only bite out of fear.

Wolf Spider

Wolf spiders are large spiders with stocky bodies and spiny legs that are usually covered in hair. Their eight eyes are uniquely placed in three rows- four small eyes on the bottom row, two large eyes in the middle row, and two medium eyes on the top row. Wolf spiders are typically brown, gray, or tan.

Unlike house spiders, wolf spiders do not construct webs. Instead they are hunters (like wolves) that will create burrows in the ground where they lie in wait for prey to come by.

Jumping Spider

Jumping spiders are usually black, tan, brown, or gray with pale or white markings on their stout bodies and legs. Their front legs are usually thicker and a bit longer than their other legs. What’s more, jumping spiders are covered with dense hairs or scales that are brightly colored or iridescent.

Jumping spiders do not spin webs but hunt for their prey.

Brown Recluse Spider

A venomous spider, the brown recluse is easily identified by violin-shaped marking on the top of its body. Typically brown in color, these arachnids have three pairs of eyes that are arranged in a semi-circle pattern. While other types of spiders build symmetrical webs, brown recluse spiders construct irregular-shaped, loose webs. Where they build also differs. Brown recluse spiders will build their webs in undisturbed areas. Brown recluse spiders are not aggressive but they may bite to defend themselves.

Commonly known as a garden spider or zipper spider because they like to spin their webs in sunny areas like gardens and often their webs resemble a zipper pattern.  These spider are not venomous, are not aggressive, and will not bite unless threatened. Egg sacs can carry anywhere between 400 - 1200 eggs.

Eave Treatments

Besides keeping your eaves looking good, this de-webbing service is a very critical part of controlling spider populations. Many spiders around your home will come from eggs and nests in the eave areas. Your service technician will remove all spider activity to prevent them from having free rein around your home.

Spiders are a particular problem near bodies of water like Little Elm, Frisco, Lewisville, Flower Mound, and Denton areas.
